Four suspects killed and two others detained since the assassination of President Haiti Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Wednesday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.

Speaking to CNN N Espayol on Wednesday night, Ambassador Bokichat Edmund said the suspects were foreigners and the Haitian National Police was in the process of determining their nationality.
“We are trying to move forward and see how we can continue to identify those who took part in this horrific act,” he said.

Moyes’ death in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Hayes, took place amid extreme violence, which claimed the lives of many citizens and rose significantly in June. Incumbent Prime Minister Claude Joseph, who declared the state of Sieg in the country, described the killings as “ugly, inhuman and barbaric” and called on citizens to remain calm.
Police have not publicly identified the suspects as aggressors and little is known about who committed the crimes.
Ambassador Edmund said he believed the suspects received help from Haitian citizens because they went to the president’s residence where the president was killed. He had previously referred to them as “mercenaries” and “well-trained assassins.”

He said they spoke Spanish in the scene video and introduced themselves as agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
“I think they are fake DEA agents,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
“We don’t know how they got in,” Edmund said, adding that he did not know if the attackers were still in the country. He said that if it did, it would be through a land border in the Dominican Republic, as Haiti could detect the plane’s departure and the airport was closed after the attack. “Once we control this situation, the airport will reopen,” he said.

The blockade is in the middle of three levels of emergency according to Haitian law, the blockade being the lowest “state of emergency” and the highest level being the “state of war”.
Under siege, the national border was closed and martial law was temporarily enforced, giving the Haitian military and national police the power to enforce the law.
The legacy is not clear
Mais, 53, was an exporter and distributor of art in Haitian politics. He spent most of last year in a political battle with the opposition under his presidency.
For now, it is not immediately clear who will replace him. Judge Jean Wilner Morin, president of the National Association of Haitian Judges, told CNN that the line of succession to the presidency in the country is now weak.
